PVO Podcast & Webinar Resources

  • On April 14, 2020 I hosted a webinar covering a review of best prevention recommendations to reduce the likelihood of developing COVID-19, along with specifics on how these recommendations change with the development of any symptoms of this infectious disease.

  • On April 17, 2020 I was fortunate to be the guest of Caroline Ruderman on her weekly radio show, Energy Matters, airing every Friday at 4PM on Northampton’s local radio station WXOJ-LP 103.3 FM. You can listen to that interview here or download it by following this link or subscribing to Caroline’s podcast, The Energy Matters Podcast, through your favorite podcast app.

  • On April 21, 2020 I was joined by Allison Roberts of Fastercise, LLC and her father Denis Wilson, MD, the developer of Fastercise and co-owner of Restorative Formulations (an exceptional pharmaceutical-grade supplement line with a focus on herbal approaches to support hormonal, cardiac, and immune function) to review the underlying science that led to the development of this approach to fat loss, muscle gain, and improved metabolic functioning. After the brief overview of human physiology, Allison demonstrated some specific ways to practice this approach to optimizing the body’s metabolic signaling tendencies, showing just how much can be achieved with literally one minute of effort.

  • On April 28, 2020 I hosted the first in a series of webinars on the topic of specialty Functional Medicine testing that can be performed at home while we are all being asked to physically distance and largely remain home. This webinar on the Comprehensive Stool Analysis (CSA) covers some fundamental details of the digestive tract anatomy, the significance of the intestinal microbiome, and how the CSA can uncover multiple potential ways in which this foundational aspect of overall health and wellness can face challenge. CSA testing can be used proactively to discover imbalances before they emerge fully into clinical pathology, and it can also be used reactively with the development of symptoms that speak to an underlying root cause residing at this point of interface between the outside world and the protected inner world of the body.

  • On May 5, 2020 I hosted the next in a series of webinars on the topic of specialty Functional Medicine testing that can be performed at home while we are all being asked to physically distance and largely remain home. This webinar on the Organic Acids Test (OAT) covers some fundamental details of biochemistry and how the OAT can uncover multiple potential ways in which overall health and wellness can face challenge. Organic Acids testing can be used proactively to discover imbalances before they emerge fully into clinical pathology, and it can also be used reactively with the development of overt symptoms that may be difficult to link to an underlying cause on their own.

  • On May 12, 2020 I hosted the next in a series of webinars on the topic of specialty Functional Medicine testing that can be performed at home (with a mobile phlebotomy appointment) while we are all being asked to physically distance and largely remain home. This webinar on Advanced Cholesterol Testing (which, admittedly, is a blood test that is typically undertaken at a professional laboratory setting due to the need to draw several mL of blood to run the full panel of tests it comprises) covers how conventional lipid panels (cholesterol tests) can be falsely concerning or falsely reassuring as they provide only a very narrow perspective on this one parameter of cardiovascular health. I then discuss how a broader perspective (the Advanced Cholesterol Test) can provide a more accurate characterization of such risk and review further details on cost and insurance coverage.

  • On May 19, 2020 I hosted the next in a series of webinars on the topic of specialty Functional Medicine testing that can be performed at home (with a mobile phlebotomy appointment) while we are all being asked to physically distance and largely remain home. This webinar on Intracellular Micronutrient Testing (which, like the Advanced Cholesterol Testing discussed the week before, is a blood test that is typically undertaken at a professional laboratory setting due to the need to draw several mL of blood to run the full panel of tests it comprises) details the benefits that can be derived from looking inside the cells to assess levels of various nutrients. How such testing might be comparable to conventionally available blood testing of various nutrients is also covered, in addition to further benefits of overall health evaluation from utilizing a combined approach with both serum (blood) testing and intracellular testing.

  • On May 26, 2020 I hosted the final webinar in this series on “At-Home Functional Medicine Testing” to review Salivary Hormone Testing and Urinary Hormone Metabolite Testing. Used separately or together, these diagnostic approaches provide incredible opportunities for further refinement of the expression of health and can bring significant and lasting change to both the day-to-day experience of vitality as well as the future minimization of the potential for disease.
